Thought-Forms

The video work consists of a series of short animated video segments, generated by a machine learning software.
The software generates images by text input, where the text input in this case relate to Hollow Earth-theories.
These theories propose that the Earth is hollow, and inhabitable within.
Sometimes also inhabited by humanoid creatures and/or lost civilizations.

Excerpt from Thought-Forms

Thought-Forms can be seen as a discussion of conspiracy theories, research bias, problematic machine learning and algoritms, and ways of how data points are distributed, sorted and connected; by both humans and machines.
Thought-Forms was shown as part of the MFA exhibition Almost Through The Theory Of A Whole.
It was shown together with the work Fragments.
The title of the work is a reference to the book by the same name by theosophists Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater.
